A new update has arrived for the Philips Hue app. Version 5.57.0, available for iOS and Android, arrives a fortnight after the last update, version 5.56.0, which brought minor stability improvements and bug fixes to users.
Philips Hue app version 5.57.0 is a larger update, with several new features. Firstly, users can now migrate multiple units of the Hue Bridge to a Bridge Pro. This process is also supported by software updates for the Hue Bridge v2 and Hue Bridge Pro. Secondly, you can now check the number of devices in your home by going to Settings > Devices. There is also the ability to filter Lights by each Hue Bridge.
There are two changes for users of Philips Hue Secure devices. The Hue Secure Wired Camera (curr. $77.99 at Amazon US) can now detect the sound from a smoke or a carbon monoxide alarm. You can set up app notifications for these events in the Detections section of the camera settings. Plus, there is a new daily peak activity view in the Insights section of the Security Center. Finally, Philips Hue has added useful information like battery replacement instructions and troubleshooting tips to the edit screen of all switches and sensors.
You can now download the Philips Hue app version 5.57.0 from the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store. Given the proximity of this release to the holidays, it could be that this is the final 2025 update for the Philips Hue app.
