The Xiaomi Smart Camera C500 is now available in some European countries. This security camera was spotted on the brand’s global website earlier in 2025, the first indication of its international rollout.
Xiaomi’s Smart Camera C500 is marketed as a “3.5K UHD” model, though its specification states the resolution is 3,200 x 1,800 px. This is the first security camera from the brand to feature a 6MP lens, and it also has an f/1.6 aperture and a 1/2.45 inch image sensor. It is said to offer a large light-sensitive area, and is also equipped with eight infrared lights to capture images at night.
The C500 can be used to detect and track humans or pets, thanks to the bidirectional integrated gimbal stand. Other features include support for two-way voice calls and a physical privacy shutter for extra peace of mind. Captured footage can be stored on an up to 256GB microSD card (not included), on a NAS device, or in the cloud. The model supports dual-band Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0, with Xiaomi HyperOS Connect allowing it to trigger linked smart home devices. For example, you could use the camera to switch on a smart light when motion is detected. Plus, it supports Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant voice commands. This model has a white casing, measuring 79 x 79 x 119 mm (~3.1 x 3.1 x 4.7 inches).
You can now buy the Xiaomi Smart Camera C500 at the brand’s online store in the UK for £38.99. Similarly, at the Mi Store in Spain, the device is available for €49.99. It is unclear when this product will reach more European countries like Germany, when you can buy other smart security cameras like the Mi Wireless Outdoor Security Camera 1080p (curr. €59.99 at Mi Store).
