The TCL P series PlayCube Projector is now available in the UK. This award-winning home cinema model was teased at CES 2025 and went on to be released in the US in September 2025.
As its name suggests, this new TCL projector has a cube-shaped design. The TCL PlayCube is twistable up to 90°, a movement said to be inspired by the Rubik’s Cube, allowing users to adjust the projection angle. This is a DLP projector with a 1080p (1,920 x 1,080 px) resolution. It can throw images up to 150 inches wide, with tools like auto focus, keystone correction and screen alignment to help you quickly perfect your setup. The light source is said to deliver up to 750 lumens brightness, making it suitable for a dark room. It is also said to cover 99% of the Rec. 709 color space and offer a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio.
Users of the TCL PlayCube can use the Google TV interface to access streaming services like Netflix and Prime Video. You can wirelessly connect devices via Wi-Fi 5.0 and Bluetooth 5.1, and there are ports like HDMI, USB 2.0 and 3.5 mm audio. Plus, this model has an integrated 5W speaker, compatible with Dolby Digital Plus. On top of this, the built-in 66 Wh battery makes it a truly portable device, running for around three hours on a single charge. The projector has a green casing, in a shade called Celadon Ash, and it measures 14.98 x 9.66 x 9.66 cm (~5.90 x 3.80 x 3.80 inches) and weighs 1.3 kg (~2.87 lbs).
You can now buy the TCL P series PlayCube Projector at UK retailers like Currys and Argos for £799.99. It is unclear when it will be officially released in other European countries like Germany, where the company already sells various TV models like the V6C (50 inch curr. €259 at Amazon).
