The TCL Note A1 is intended to handle tasks in professional contexts with a high level of comfort and arguably in a quite stylish manner. Advanced features are advertised, some of which utilize the integrated microphone array.

TCL offers various devices with a so-called NxtPaper display. As the name already suggests, these panels are intended to provide a reading experience similar to paper, which is particularly useful for reading or working and can increase comfort. With the TCL Note A1 NxtPaper, the company has announced a new tablet that is intended for professional use cases.

The tablet’s dimensions are listed as 10.24 x 7.74 x 0.22 inches with a weight of 17.6 oz, so the TCL Note A1 NxtPaper should be relatively easy to carry around. Meanwhile, the color display can show 16.7 million colors, which means that this is more than a basic e-ink screen. Our in-depth reviews of devices with this technology can provide a helpful impression of NxtPaper technology.

The TCL Note A1 supports styluses for sketching, drawing and writing, and the advertised low latency is beneficial for that. Additionally, the tablet can recognize handwriting when taking notes and create AI summaries. According to TCL, transcribing spoken text is possible, which can be useful for meetings. This feature uses the array of eight microphones.

Details regarding the exact technical specifications, such as the SoC, are not available at this point. Anyhow, the TCL Note A1 NxtPaper is expected to launch for $419 via a crowdfunding campaign, which is basically a regular pre-order in disguise, since TCL is probably not dependent on crowdfunding in order to develop this new device.

As a possible alternative that’s already available, check out the Viwoods AiPaper on Amazon.
