The NAS (network attached storage) has typically been associated with bulky machines with multiple drives. Of late, however, many smaller alternatives like the Milenas and UnifyDrive U2T have begun showing up. StationPC came up with a similar solution earlier, but it was only available via Kickstarter. Now, it can be bought via additional platforms.
To recall, the StationPC PocketCloud supports up to an 8 TB M.2 2280 SSD and a micro SD card. One can install an additional SSD in a dock that needs to be purchased separately. The dock also adds a 2.5 Gbps Ethernet slot, a USB-A port, and a USB 3.0 port. Additionally, it comes with contact points that allows the NAS to be used as a conventional storage solution.
It measures 153 mm × 93 mm × 27 mm and weighs 363.5 grams without an SSD. A 3,200 mAh battery powers it and charges via a USB-C port. The StationPC PocketCloud comes with an Arm-based SoC with 4x Cortex-A55 CPU cores and an Arm Mali-G52-2EE GPU. It runs the company's StationCloud OS, which can interface with all major platforms, including Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS.
You can buy the barebones StationPC PocketCloud NAS on the company's official website and on Amazon for $239.99 (full price $299).
