Philips Hue has released a new tool allowing users to migrate multiple Hue Bridges to a Hue Bridge Pro. This functionality was announced when the Hue Bridge Pro launched. Initially, the migration process could only be used to migrate a single Hue Bridge.
This multi-Bridge migration tool arrived with Philips Hue app version 5.57.0 for iOS and Android, alongside other features. The functionality was also mentioned in the change log of two other recent updates: Philips Hue Bridge v2 Software version 1974142030 and Philips Hue Bridge Pro Software version 2071153010.
The Philips Hue Bridge Pro migration tool can be accessed in two ways. Firstly, it is an option for anyone setting up a new Bridge Pro. It can also be found in the app under Settings > Bridges > “[Bridge name]” > Migrate. Philips Hue states that you can migrate as many Bridges as desired, provided you have enough storage. All content from the first Bridge will be migrated to an empty Bridge Pro, with only partial content added from subsequent Bridges. You can find out more about the migration progress on the dedicated support page.
The Philips Hue app update is now available to download from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store. Meanwhile, the Philips Hue Bridge v2 Software version 1974142030 and Philips Hue Bridge Pro Software version 2071153010 are rolling out to users in phases over the coming days. It is worth noting that the new software for the Philips Hue Bridge v2 and the Philips Hue Bridge Pro also brought “several small changes behind the scenes” to these devices, according to the release notes. The Philips Hue Bridge Pro is currently available at Amazon US for $98.99.
