MSI has expanded its gaming monitor lineup with another Gen 3 QD-OLED option. Specifically, the company has turned to Samsung Display's 27-inch and 1440p (2.5K) panel, which started out with a 360 Hz refresh rate in monitors like the MAG 271QPX and MPG 271QRX.
However, the new MAG 274QP X24 shares the same 240 Hz variant as the MAG 271QPX QD-OLED E2 and MAG 271QP X24 (curr. $597.99 on Amazon). As far as we can tell, the MAG 274QP X24 is now MSI's entry-level variant owing to its price and cut-back brightness values. On the latter, the MAG 274QP X24 outputs at 200 nits in SDR mode and 400 nits in HDR mode, compared to 250 nits and 450 nits, respectively, for other equivalent gaming monitors.
With that being said, the MAG 274QP X24 still delivers 0.03 ms GtG response time, VESA ClearMR 13000 certification, 99% DCI-P3 coverage and ΔE ≤2 factory colour calibration. Moreover, the monitor supports Adaptive Sync as well as optimised profiles for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S|X consoles. On top of that, MSI has included DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.1 ports but no USB hub to speak of.
MSI has priced the MAG 274QP X24 at $499.99 in the US, although the monitor is not yet available from its store. By contrast, Amazon and Newegg have listed the MAG 274QP X24 neither have stock at the time of publication. Instead, MSI's latest 27-inch gaming monitor can be ordered from Best Buy Canada for CAD$549 (~$397).
