ViewSonic has introduced a new OLED gaming monitor, the XG323B-4K-OLED. It shares an identical design to the XG323-4K-OLED2 and even has a 31.5-inch display. However, there are some changes on the spec sheets, which can be seen as downgrades.
While the newer gaming monitor retains an OLED panel with dual modes, it can offer a 330 Hz refresh rate in 1080p resolution mode and a 165 Hz refresh rate in 4K. To compare, the XG323-4K-OLED2 that launched last year can go up to 480 Hz in the FHD mode and 240 Hz in 4K.
There have been some changes in the port configuration as well. More specifically, the selection of the ViewSonic XG323B-4K-OLED isn't as high-end as the other variant, and it features the following ports:
- 2x HDMI 2.1
- 2x DisplayPort 1.4
- 1x USB-A
- 1x audio output
Unlike the other variant, there isn't a USB-C port with support for Power Delivery (ROG Swift PG32UCDM with 90 W USB-C curr. $899 on Amazon). The good part is that the new OLED monitor is compatible with both G-Sync and FreeSync, ensuring a tear-free gaming experience. ViewSonic also notes that the display has hardware-level low blue light tech, promising comfortable viewing even during prolonged sessions.
Other highlights of the OLED gaming monitor include 98.5% DCI-P3 color coverage, 0.03 ms rated GTG response time, and an HDR brightness rating of 1,300 cd/m². The company has yet to share details on pricing and availability, but given that the complete spec sheet is already available, the XG323B-4K-OLED could make a proper launch soon.
