Intel Arc B580 trades blows with Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 and AMD Radeon RX 7700 XT in leaked 3D Mark Time Spy benchmark
At its launch event, Intel claimed the Arc B580 could perform on par with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 Ti at a fraction of the cost. A recent Geekbench listing showed the Arc B580 offering a respectable performance uplift over the last-gen Arc A580 and even the AMD Radeon RX 7600 XT. A Chiphell poster (via HXL on X) has now revealed how the graphics card fares in 3DMark Time Spy.
The Intel Arc B580 scores 15,551 points in the benchmark. Its graphics and CPU scores are 14,719 and 22,881, respectively. It was tested alongside an Intel Core i9-14900KF, effectively eliminating any CPU bottlenecks. Now, let's have a look at how it fares against some competitors.
Starting with the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti (13,872), the Arc B580 is about 12% faster. Going back one generation to the GeForce RTX 3080 (16,134), it is a paltry 3% slower. The situation is more or less the same when the AMD Radeon RX 7700 XT (16,454) is involved. Finally, the Arc B580 is ~10% faster than the last-gen Arc A770 (14,047).
Overall, these numbers are pretty impressive. However, Alchemist's launch showed us while Intel was ahead in synthetics, it failed to recreate that magic in gaming. Of course, Intel has had plenty of time to work on its drivers, so they shouldn't be as much of a problem this time. Still, it will be interesting to see if the Arc B580 can keep its lead in gaming - where it actually matters.
