Intel Arc B580 and Arc B570: New desktop graphics cards announced with affordable price tags
Intel has finally lifted the covers off its next-gen desktop graphics cards: Arc B580 and Arc B570. As their names suggest, the Arc B580 will be the top-spec offering, while the B570 will serve as a cut-down version with a lower price tag. Unfortunately, there's no sign of the top-spec B770 model this time. As predicted by earlier leaks, these are mid-range models that aim to compete with Nvidia's GeForce RTX 4060 Ti. Both SKUs come with a Battlemage G21 GPU.

Specs-wise, the Intel Arc B580 comes with 20 Xe cores, 20 ray tracing units, 12 GB VRAM on a 192-bit bus (456 GB/s total memory bandwidth), a boost clock of 2.6 GHz and a max TBP of 190 Watts. The Arc B570 features 18 Xe cores, 10 GB VRAM on a 160-bit bus (380 GB/s memory bandwidth), a boost clock of 2.5 GHz and a total board power of 150 Watts.
Both SKUs will launch only 8x PCIe Gen 4.0 support. A rumour from X says 16x support is expected to arrive later via a driver update. For I/O, you get three DP 2.1 ports and an HDMI 2.1 port. Thanks to their low TBP, you probably won't need to upgrade your power supply.
Intel claims the Arc A580 can outperform the last-gen Arc A750 by up to 24% at 1440p. Similarly, it claims to best the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 by up to 10% at the same resolution. For some reason, Intel makes asinine comparisons to the nearly four-gen-old Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 and GTX 1660, both of which do not support ray tracing. Interestingly, there are no Arc B570 benchmarks to be found anywhere.
The Intel Arc B580, Arc A750 and GeForce RTX 4060 in question were tested in November this year on a test rig with the following specs: Intel Core i9-14900K, Asus ROG Maximus Z790 motherboard, 32 GB DDR5 5600 CL36 RAM, Corsair MP600 PRO XT NVMe SSD, Windows 11 Pro (10.0.22631 Build 26100.2033) and Resizeable BAR switched on. Historically, Intel GPUs have suffered from driver-related issues, and these figures will only go up with subsequent updates.
You can purchase the Intel Arc B580 on December 13 starting at $249. On the other hand, the Arc B570 won't be available for purchase until next year, starting at $219. The list of third-party variants will include offerings for Asrock, Gunnir, Sparkle, Maxsun and Acer.
