45% premium for 12 GB VRAM and Xe2: Leak reveals price of Intel Arc B580 GPU
Following a recent leak about the most important specs of the Intel Arc B580 and the listing of two models from ASRock on Amazon, leakers @momomo_us and VideoCardz have found the first online shop with the price of the upcoming GPU. According to this, the Intel Arc B580 Limited Edition, which is distributed by Intel itself instead of a board partner, will start at $259.
This corresponds to a price increase of around 45%, as the Intel Arc A580 was originally offered for an RRP of $179.99 at launch. This brings the graphics card relatively close to the price of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060. However, for this higher price, buyers also get 12 GB of GB VRAM instead of the 8 GB of the Arc A580, with Intel also reducing the number of Xe cores from 24 to 20.
Only more detailed tests will determine whether the Arc B580 can indeed outperform the similarly priced Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 thanks to its new Xe2 architecture in conjunction with significantly higher boost clock frequencies of up to 2,850 MHz. With the first Xe2-based graphics card set to hit the market in December, it is expected to be only a few weeks before detailed tests reveal how well the Intel Arc Battlemage fares in what is a highly competitive gaming graphics card market. Since Nvidia's GeForce RTX 5000 is also expected to be officially launched in January, a few exciting months lay ahead.
