Intel Arc B580 Battlemage GPU outperforms RX 7600 XT and Arc A580 by double-digit margins in synthetic benchmarks
After months of leaks, Intel finally unveiled the next-gen Arc Battlemage GPUs, the Arc B580 and Arc B570, last week. The more powerful Arc B580 will be the first to hit store shelves on December 13 at an MSRP of just $249, while the Arc B570 is scheduled to drop some time in 2025.
For just $249, the Arc B580 can prove to be a hit with gamers who are tight on cash, as Intel claims the GPU to be faster than both the last-gen Arc A750 and the RTX 4060. Additionally, the Arc B580 packs 12 GB of RAM, a factor which is proving to be a major consideration for gamers as 8 GB VRAM is no longer enough for AAA titles.
While Intel’s Arc B580 performance claims look pretty good, we can’t take the company’s word at face value. Fortunately, as we move closer to the Arc B580 release date, benchmarks depicting the performance of the GPU will leak. One such leak has now given us a preliminary look at the synthetic performance of the Arc B580.
Intel Arc B580 Battlemage GPU performance
The Intel Arc B580 earned Geekbench OpenCL and Vulkan scores of 98,343 and 1,03445, respectively. Based on figures from Geekbench’s database, these scores put the Intel Arc B580 ahead of the Arc A580 by about 9% faster in the OpenCl tests and a massive 30% faster in the Vulkan-based tests.
The Arc B580 benchmarks also look pretty favorable vs the RX 7600 and the RX 7600 XT (Available on Amazon). In the OpenCL benchmark, the Arc B580 is 20% ahead of the RX 7600 and 17% faster than the RX 7600 XT. The Arc Battlemage GPU’s lead in the Vulkan tests stands at around 18.5% vs the RX 7600 XT and 14% vs the RX 7600.
Finally, the Arc B580 lags behind the RTX 4060 in the OpenCL by about 3%. However, the Arc B580 Battlemage GPU appears 6.5% faster than the RTX 4060 in the Vulkan benchmark.
All things considered, the Intel Arc B580 is shaping up to be a big upgrade over the Arc A580. But, synthetic benchmarks never tell the full story. So, we’ll have to wait and see the performance of the retail Arc B580 samples reviews of which are slated to arrive this week.
