Exynos 2400 rumoured join Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6 releases

Rumours about Samsung offering new foldable flagships with multiple chipsets have been bouncing around for a while now. Most recently, an apparent Geekbench listing relating to a Galaxy Z Flip6 with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset surfaced online, details of which we have covered separately. According to a new South Korean industry magazine, the strong US dollar is one of the primary reasons why Samsung has decided to pursue a twin chipset strategy for not just the Galaxy Z Flip6, but also the Galaxy Z Fold6.

Allegedly, Samsung may not necessarily deliver both next-generation foldables with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 options. For context, Vivo recently did as much with the X Fold3 and X Fold3 Pro, which remain Chinese exclusives. Instead, Samsung is rumoured to have settled on the Exynos 2400, its in-house chipset that powers the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 Plus in Europe, South Korea and other markets.

Seemingly, this will apply to at least one Galaxy Z model this year in South Korea. However, there have been plenty of rumours that Samsung could be preparing 'FE' or 'Ultra' models in some regard. Either way, Samsung will likely offer only Snapdragon variants in North America, as is the case with the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24 Plus and Galaxy S24 Ultra (curr. $1,099.99 on Amazon) this time around.
