Kamila Wojciechowska has provided fresh insights into the potential performance of Qualcomm's Snapdragon X series chipsets. For context, not much time has passed since the mid-tier Snapdragon X Elite variant, X1E-80-100, appeared in various Geekbench listings. For reference, it seems that the X1E-80-100 was powering the Surface Laptop 6, with a Snapdragon X Plus-sporting Surface Pro 10 appearing on the same benchmarking platform a few days prior.
Almost simultaneously, SemiAccurate levelled serious claims about Qualcomm falsifying performance numbers, which X1E-80-100 leaked Geekbench listings did not necessarily support and which Qualcomm subsequently refuted to Tom's Hardware:
We stand behind our performance claims and are excited for consumers to get their hands on Snapdragon X Elite and X Plus devices soon.
Setting aside the Geekbench results that we have already covered, Wojciechowska has now revealed performance numbers for the entire Snapdragon X product stack for Cinebench 2024, as well as results for 3DMark Wildlife Extreme, GFXBench Aztec Ruins and Procyon AI. Specifically, Wojciechowska has provided the following benchmark results:
X1E-80-100 | X1E-78-100 | X1P-64-100 | |
---|---|---|---|
Cinebench 2024 - single threaded | 122.83 | 107.40 | 109.10 |
Cinebench 2024 - multi threaded | 1,100 (thermals dependent | 891.7 | 845.1 |
3DMark Wildlife Extreme Score | 6,245 | 6,208 | 6,051 |
GFXBench Aztec Ruins Normal Tier | 276.26 | 276.59 | |
262.37 | |||
Procyon AI total score | 1779 | 1772 | 1746 |
Moreover, the same website has detailed total package power for three Snapdragon X variants:
Total package power | X1E-84-100 | X1E-80-100 | X1P-64-100 |
---|---|---|---|
50% of chips manufactured | 82.33 W | 43.40 W | 35.01 W |
95% of chips manufactured | 98.50 W | 52.92 W | 42.52 W |
Ultimately, it seems that only the X1E-84-100 variant consumes more power under full load than its peers. By contrast, lesser X1E-80-100 and X1P-64-100 variants are on par with the total package powers of higher-end Apple M series and Meteor Lake-H competitors. Currently, only the Surface Pro 10 has appeared with a Snapdragon X Plus. However, official images for Snapdragon Editions of the ThinkPad T14s Gen 6 and Yoga Slim 7 have leaked online, which could be available with multiple Snapdragon X chipset SKUs.
