Argo Fy Cargo Bike Kit 2.0: Convert your e-bike into a cargo bike

The Argo Fy Cargo Bike Kit 2.0 allows you to convert an e-bike with a rear hub motor into a fully-fledged cargo bike at low cost. Developed by Argo Cargo Bikes in Denver, Colorado, the kit is aimed at users who want to expand their transport options without having to buy a new e-cargo bike.

Up to 68 kg load capacity

The kit is based on an aluminum frame reinforced with additional ribs. The steering has a larger turning angle, significantly increasing maneuverability. The included cargo box is made of waterproof phenolic plywood, which is sturdy and non-slip, and can carry up to 68 kilograms. Safety belts for children can also be attached. The total weight of the kit is 18.2 kilograms.

Two hydraulic disc brakes

For the e-cargo bike conversion, the set supports axle diameters of 9, 12 and 15 millimeters, including quick release, thru-axle and Super Boost. It is mounted on the bottom bracket using a solid metal connection that bears the main load, while the fork remains smooth-running. Two hydraulic disc brakes replace the previous brakes and, according to the manufacturer, ensure good deceleration regardless of load and speed.

Tool-free kit removal 

Argo offers an optional Quick Bolt that allows the kit to be disassembled without tools. This allows the e-cargo bike to be dismantled into two parts for space-saving transport or storage. A rain cover is also available to protect the load or passengers from wind, rain and sun, and can be stowed under the cargo box when not in use.

Compatibility for e-bikes with rear wheel hub motors

Requirements for installation are straight handlebars or drop handlebars, a threaded bottom bracket with widths of 68, 73, 83 or 100 millimeters, and a lockable or rigid fork. Compatibility is currently limited to e-bikes with rear wheel hub motors. Mid-drive e-bikes are not currently supported, but according to Argo, a solution is planned for 2027. Argo also provides information on the compatibility of a specific bike upon request.
