Shortly after HP released its Pavilion Gaming 16 and Omen 15 in India, Dell has followed suit by making four new gaming laptops available in the country. They are the Alienware M15 R3, Dell G5 15 Special Editon, Dell G5 15, and Dell G3 15. All four laptops are refreshes of existing Dell products and come with tenth-generation Intel CPUs. There are AMD options, too, this time around.
Alienware M15 R3
The Alienware M15 R3 can be configured with a variety of Intel processors such as the Intel Core i7-10750H, Core i9-10980HK.No AMD options for this particular model, unfortunately. GPU options start with the Nvidia GeForce 1650 Ti and go all the way up to an Nvidia GeForce 2080 Super. The laptop supports up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM clocked at 2,666MHz and a 1TB NVMe SSD. Dell also lets you daisy-chain SSDs in a RAID0 configuration for extra performance.
As the name (somewhat) suggests, the Alienware M15 R3 comes with a 15.6-inch OLED screen. Its resolution and refresh rate varies according to the SKU. The entry-level variants get 1080p 144Hz, while the maxed-out version receives the same resolution at 300Hz. The latter covers 100% of the sRGB spectrum, making it ideal for tasks that require color-accurate panels. There is a 4K 60Hz configuration too.
The laptop's chassis is made of an Mg-Al alloy and comes with an RGB keyboard. It also comes with support for Tobii Eye Tracking. Powering the whole contraption is an 83WH battery that can provide up to eight hours of backup. The Alienware M15 R3 is priced at INR 1,99,990 (US$2,673) for what we assume is the maxed-out version. The SKU is yet to be listed on Dell's official website, but it shouldn't be long before it shows up.
Dell G5 15 Special Edition
The Dell G5 15 Special Edition is quite similar to the Alienware M15 R2 when it comes to display chops. It also comes with a 15.6-inch FHD OLED panel clocked at 144Hz. Alternatively, there is a 4K 60Hz flavor as well. Moving on to its innards, one can choose between AMD Ryzen 5 4600H, Ryzen 7 4800H, and Ryzen 9 4900H CPUs. It can be paired with only an AMD RX5600M, much to the delight of Team Red enthusiasts. Up to 32GB of RAM can be had, along with 512GB of solid-state storage. The laptop will retail at INR 74,990 (US$1,000) for the base variant. You can find out more about it on Dell's website.
Dell G5 15
Unlike the Dell G5 15 Special Edition, the Dell G5 15 lacks a 4K variant. However, it does come with the same 15.6-inch FHD screen that can be cranked up to 300Hz. However, the CPU choices are restricted to the Intel Core i5-10300H, Core i7-10750H. GPU options start at the Nvidia GeForce 1650 Ti and go all the way up to the GeForce 2070 Super. Memory and storage configurations are identical to that of the G5 15 Special Edition. The Dell G5 15 is priced a tad higher at INR 82,590 (US$1,103).
Dell G3 15
The Dell G3 15 is the most affordable laptop of the lot. Its CPU configuration is identical to that of the Dell G5 15, while the GPU is capped at the Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060. It comes with a 15.6-inch FHD panel with a refresh rate of up to 144Hz. One can mix and match NVMe SSDs, and 5400RPM SATA drives in a variety of configurations along with up to 16GB of RAM. Prices start at INR 73,990 (US$998).
