Dell G5 15 variant featuring an Intel Core i5-10200H spotted online; AMD Ryzen 7 5800H and GeForce RTX 3060 version in the works too
Some time ago, we discovered that Dell was working on a new Alienware m15 Ryzen Edition powered by an AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX CPU and Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 graphics card. MyLaptopGuide has now stumbled upon another Dell laptop that is due to receive a refresh; the Dell G5 15.
The new variant will allegedly be called Dell G5 15 5510. It will be powered by a Comet Lake Intel Core i5-10200H processor and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650. The Dell G5 15 5510 also supports up to 16GB of RAM, 8GB more than the previous-generation model. It can be coupled with a 512GB NVMe SSD. Moving on the display side of things, the Dell G5 15 5510 will feature a 15.6-inch FHD IPS LCD panel clocked at 120Hz.
Other Dell G5 15 5510 specifications include Wi-fi 6, a 56Wh battery and a free copy of Windows 10 Home. Its design is a slightly modified version of the original Dell G5 15, starting with the vents at the back. However, Dell appears to have thrown in some additional vents above the keyboard too. As a result, the fingerprint reader/power button had to be relocated to an unknown location. Lastly, the hinge has also been slightly modified. It is expected to launch in the United States for a price of US$899.
Prolific Twitter leaker @_rogame has some new information of an entirely new G5 15 variant called the Dell G5 15 5515. Unlike the Dell G5 15 5510, it comes with current-generation hardware, such as an AMD Ryzen 7 5800H CPU and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 graphics card. There could be other variants with similar hardware too. One can only hope that the Dell G5 15 5515 does better than the ill-fated Dell G5 15 SE, which was also powered by an AMD CPU (Ryzen 7 4800H). The laptop was chided for its 100-degree plus CPU temperatures, and one can only hope that Dell G5 15 5515 uses a better thermal solution.
