The renowned leaker Digital Chat Station believes that RedMagic is in no hurry to embrace the extra-large screen trend in its second-gen tablet. Nevertheless, the slate is also tipped to pack a lot of power in a relatively compact package with the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Leading Version SoC as the brand's flagship 9S Pro.
RedMagic's inaugural Android tablet had a surprisingly plain rear panel to go with its 12.1-inch display, especially considering the "evolved" nature of its smartphone design. It would be interesting to see if the slate's 2nd generation will be any more 'gamerified'.
Digital Chat Station hints that that might be the case, as the "Gaming Tablet 2" will come with improved, "pioneering" cooling technology for its top-end silicon - which would make it unusually super-powered for its category.
RedMagic's upcoming Gaming Tablet sequel is predicted to launch as soon as August 2024. Meanwhile, the 9S Pro's successor - another 2024 device with the same upgraded design and the standard 8 Gen 3 - now goes for as little as $699 on Amazon.
