The Honor MagicPad 2 has been officially unveiled. The manufacturer obviously places great importance on the tablet's screen. It measures 12.3 inches diagonally and uses an OLED panel with a resolution of 3,000 x 1,920 pixels. The refresh rate supports four levels - 60, 90, 120, and 144 Hz. The brightness of the screen is regulated with a PWM frequency of 4,320 Hz, and various certifications are intended to ensure eye protection.
Measuring 274.5 x 180.5 millimeters and 5.8 millimeters thick, the tablet weighs 555 grams and is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC, which means it uses a Cortex X4 and additional Cortex A720 and Cortex A520 processing cores. The RAM measures 8 or 16 gigabytes, depending on the model variant selected, and the internal memory is 256, 512 gigabytes, or one terabyte in size.
There are a total of eight speakers, which should not only provide a convincing audio quality but also a spatial sound. A battery with a capacity of 10,050 mAh is installed, which can be charged with up to 66 watts. The operating system used is Honor MagicOS 8.0, an operating system based on Android with advanced AI functions.
A stylus is supported, which is said to have a particularly low latency of just 2 milliseconds. The main camera has a resolution of 13 megapixels and the front camera has 9 MP. The tablet does not have a mobile network connection, but WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3 are supported. The Honor MagicPad 2 is available in the smallest memory version in the home market of China at a list price of the equivalent of 367 euros, information on the global release is not yet available.
