Honor Magic 7 with even more telephoto megapixels: First hints of specs and launch date leaked
With the Honor Magic6 generation (available as the Magic6 Lite or Magic6 Pro), Honor installed a 180-MP telephoto camera for the first time (from the Pro model onwards), which uses an Omnivision sensor and follows a similar strategy to the Vivo X100 Ultra with its 200-MP ISOCELL HP9 sensor.
Currently, these are the only camera flagships on the market with such high-pixel zoom cameras and, according to an initial leak, Honor plans to pursue this strategy again with its successors or even expand it further. According to leaker @rodent950, who is usually very well informed about Huawei and Honor, the manufacturer, which will soon be launching the Magic V3, the Magic Vs3 and new tablets and laptops, will in future install a 200-MP sensor like Vivo, namely the ISOCELL HP3 from Samsung, a somewhat older 200-MP sensor that hardly differs from the ISOCELL HP9 in terms of the most important specifications, such as 1/1.4 inch size or 0.56 um pixel size.
The Magic7 series is also expected to feature a 50-MP Omnivision OV50K sensor in the main camera and an Omnivision 50H (probably ultra-wide angle) as well as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, a tandem OLED display and a 6000+ mAh battery, although it is still unclear which model of the Magic 7 series is specifically meant. For example, the tandem OLED is currently only found in the Magic6 RSR, not the Magic6 Pro. It remains to be seen whether this will change with the next Honor flagship generation. This is apparently due to be launched in China as early as December 2024, while the Magic7 Pro will probably not arrive outside China until 2025.
