It is no secret that DJI has been developing an alternative to the GoPro Max and Insta360 X5 (curr. $549.99 on Amazon). To recap, the Osmo 360 was spotted undergoing testing in February alongside the rumoured Osmo Action 6. Then earlier this month, dozens of images surfaced online courtesy of an unscrupulous regulatory body.
However, there were suggestions by the likes of Jasper Ellens that the Osmo 360 would never see the light of day. According to ITHome, this may not have been accurate, at least not for all markets. Instead, the website reports that DJI has plans to release its long-rumoured action camera after all, and much sooner than expected.
Specifically, ITHome claims that the Osmo 360 will arrive in July. The website has not provided a specific launch date though, nor how much the 360-degree camera will cost. At this stage, it remains to be seen whether the camera will be offered globally or just in China. Nonetheless, recent leaks have already identified the camera's shape, size and that it will use the same 1,950 mAh battery found in the Osmo Action 5 Pro.
