Xiaomi has introduced a new product called the True Wireless Noise Cancelling Headphones 3 Pro today (September 27, 2021). This lengthy title covers a lot of what these new AirPod clones offer, although there is even more besides. They include IP55 ingress protection, up to 33 hours of use between charges and a new audio codec for "HiFi" sound.

Xiaomi has announced new personal audio accessories alongside the new Civi smartphone and Watch Color 2 today. They have come as somewhat of a surprise, particularly as the OEM has launched TWS earbuds quite like them earlier in 2021

On the other hand, this debut vindicates previous leaks hinting at successors for the Mi True Wireless Earphones 2 Pro. Much like the FlipBuds Pro, they are AirPod clones, albeit ones embellished with a new design for its external mics and 3 new colors: black, white and a deep forest green. The OEM asserts that the buds are also lighter and smaller than their predecessors, for increased comfort and decreased obtrusiveness.

Xiaomi also claims that the new True Wireless Headphones 3 Pro are the first of their kind to debut with LHDC 4.0, a codec rated to confer "HiFi-level" audio quality on the buds. They are also the first from their brand to be rated for adaptive ANC. This spec involves 3-stage noise reduction, an ambient mode and a human voice-enhancing mode. It tops out at 40dB of sound exclusion, apparently officially certified by the Chinese Academy of Metrology in this case.

The 3 Pros are also equipped with their OEM's take on spatial (or 360°) audio. They also offer wireless as well as USB type C charging, and are rated to last up to 6 hours alone with ANC off, with the rest of their maximum duration between charge coming from their up-to-date case.

Despite all these features, the Xiaomi True Wireless Noise Cancelling Headphones 3 Pro start at 699 yuan (~US$92), even though the Flipbuds Pro did so at 799 yuan (~$109). They are available to reserve in China from today, and will be released to general order on October 9, 2021.
