Samsung releases first updates for Galaxy Watch7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra with focus on addressing performance and battery life concerns
The Galaxy Watch7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra (curr. $649.99 on Amazon) have not been around for long, having been presented on July 10. For context, the two smartwatches debuted alongside the Galaxy Z Flip6 and Galaxy Z Fold6, as well the Galaxy Ring and Galaxy Buds3 series.
Incidentally there were initial reports of hardware and software issues occurring on some Galaxy Watch Ultra units. In summary, the latter centred on unexpectedly short battery runtimes, which Samsung has now sought to resolve through its first round of updates for both the Galaxy Watch Ultra and the cheaper Galaxy Watch7.
As the likes of SamMobile note, Samsung has not necessarily released these updates globally yet. Nonetheless, they are said to have reached markets like North America. For reference, the updates are identifiable by the characters 'AXFB' and 'AXG2' at the end of their build numbers, which Samsung has distributed to the Galaxy Watch Ultra and Galaxy Watch7, respectively.
Seemingly, both updates seek to address battery life concerns, as well as potential performance irregularities. Moreover, Samsung claims to have improved battery stability and charging stability, albeit without providing any specifics in this regard. Unfortunately, the company does not go into detail in either changelog about the full raft of refinements it has included in AXFB or AXG2.
