Garmin releases new stable update for Instinct 2 and Instinct Crossover with a slew of bug fixes
Less than a week has passed since Garmin released Beta Version 16.11 for the Instinct 2 (curr. $255.50 on Amazon), which also reached the Instinct 2S, Instinct 2X and Instinct Crossover. In summary, the company claimed that Beta Version 16.11 addressed various issues, although only two were shared across the entire Instinct 2 series.
Now, the company has transitioned Beta Version 16.11 to being a stable update, which it is distributing as System Software 16.11. As with v16.10, Garmin posted the following on its Beta Program forums:
Our latest public release is now available to everyone through traditional channels. This concludes our 16.xx Beta period. Thank you to everyone for your participation in this program. We look forward to working with you when our next Beta is available.
Please note that System Software 16.11 follows System Software 16.10 rather than a 15.xx build. As such, the latest stable update for the Instinct 2 series contains fewer changes than would normally be the case. Specifically, the company describes the following changes across multiple forum posts:
Shared changelog
- Fixed issue where CT10 name could display incorrectly.
- Fixed graphical issue on battery saver watch face.
Instinct 2S/Crossover shared changelog
- Fixed issue with adding data screens to Basketball and Volleyball activities.
Instinct 2/2X shared changelog
- Fixed issue where incident detection could be triggered in MTB activities.
Instinct 2X only changelog
- Fixed Acute Load icon in Training Status widget.
