Garmin brings seven bug fixes to smartwatches in new beta update
The Garmin Forerunner 255 has received beta version 20.21. Similar updates have also arrived for related models like Forerunner 165, though initially, there was some confusion about whether the software brought any genuinely new features.
When beta version 20.21 first appeared, the changelog noted new tools like Garmin Share and Device Settings Backup and Restore, though these have with the previous update, version 20.15. However, the Garmin team has since updated the forum post, adding seven fresh bug fixes. These tackle various translation-related issues for pulse ox, sound & vibe and the Run activity. Garmin has also resolved problems with haptic feedback, missing workouts, interval categorization and PacePro audio alerts. The full changelog, including lines seen in the previous update, can be found below.
The Garmin team has also confirmed that the rollout of beta version 20.21 for the Forerunner 255 is now complete, so all eligible units should have automatically received the update. If not, you can manually trigger the installation from the Main menu > Settings > System > Software Update > Check For Updates. Those wishing to join the beta program can do so via Garmin Connect.
