Garmin has delivered a new update for three of its popular mid-range smartwatches. Rolling out now on its Beta Program, the update is said to improve swimming functionality for the trio.

Garmin has begun rolling out a new update for its Venu 3, Venu 3S and Vivoactive 5 (curr. $273.99 on Amazon) smartwatches. To recap, the company kicked off a new beta update cycle at the tail end of last month for all three smartwatches with Beta 11.08. Now, it has shifted to Beta 11.10, which it claims is available to download now globally.

With that being said, it seems that Garmin is only distributing Beta 11.10 through its over-the-air (OTA) service. Consequently, it recommends downloading the update on a Venu 3, Venu 3S or Vivoactive 5 directly by heading to their Main menus, then to Settings, System and Software Update before tapping 'Check for Updates'. Please note that it could take some time for your smartwatch to download and install Beta 11.10.

Additionally, Garmin stresses that Beta 11.10 keeps the ECG app disabled on the Venu 3 and Venu 3S. Thus, it would seem that the company does not intend to offer a new stable update anytime soon. To that end, Beta 11.10 is said to improve the pool swim rest screen and related alert ones. Please see Garmin's forum posts for more details.
