A new beta update, version 18.11, is now rolling out to various Garmin smartwatches, including the Fenix 7. This release and its predecessor, version 18.10, are said to bring bug fixes to the wearables. However, users have flagged further problems in the Garmin Forum.

Garmin has announced a new beta update, version 18.11, for users of the Fenix 7, Epix, Enduro 2, Quatix 7, and MARQ Gen 2 smartwatch models. Beta version 18.11 brings two bug fixes to these Garmin wearables.

The first addresses a problem with the Garmin Connect integration, where activities only sometimes show the course taken. The second issue which has been resolved could cause the smartwatch to shut down when a user tries to access the Garmin Coach glance. The latest release follows beta version 18.10, which also brought a pair of bug fixes to these devices, fixing shutdown problems when settings for the Daily Suggested Workout were adjusted or when outdoor Maps+ map layers were altered. There is another fix not noted in the changelog; some users have confirmed that the problem with missing CPE, which started with beta version 18.09, has been fixed with version 18.10/18.11.

However, there appear to be fresh bugs with these latest updates. According to two users, one with a Fenix 7 Pro Solar and the other with an Epix Gen 2, Daily Suggested Workouts are not currently on the calendar. Plus, the issue with headphones failing to connect on the first attempt seemingly persists. Garmin has yet to address either of these reported problems.

At the time of the post on the Garmin forum, a team member noted that beta version 18.11 had been rolled out to 10% of eligible users, but they have yet to indicate when this phased rollout would be complete. If you own a Fenix 7, Epix, Enduro 2, Quatix 7, or MARQ Gen 2 smartwatch and wish to join the beta program, you can do so via Garmin Connect.
