Huawei launches new power adapter with 140W fast charging support

The Huawei "Super Fast Charging Power Adapter" has just launched alongside the new 2024 MatePad Air and MatePad Pro 12.2. This new power adapter sports a single USB-C port and comes with a 1.8-meter cable. The launch price is CNY 289 (about $40.43), making it a relatively affordable fast charger.

On that note, the adapter maxes out at 140W, enough to get laptops charged quickly. Huawei claims that the charger can get the MateBook X Pro from 0 to 71% in 30 minutes. As for the other devices, the company shares that it can get the Pura 70 Pro to 93% and MatePad Pro 13.2 to 71% in the same time frame.

But of course, this new Huawei power adapter isn't just for the company's devices. It supports many charger protocols, including PPS, PD 3.0, QC 2.0, and SCP 2.0. These should make the power adapter work with smartphones, laptops, and even accessories from other brands.

As for the design, Huawei says that GaN technology allows the charger to be compact and portable. However, unlike some of the other portable power adapters, the 140W fast charger doesn't have foldable prongs. Other highlights include 12-layer security protection and a lightweight body.
