Realme GT7 Pro tipped to hit global market with Samsung display and mystery co-branding
Realme did not release its highest-end GT-series Android smartphone outside of China in 2024 - however, that is now projected to change with the next generation of the series.
The GT6 is now said to precede the only upcoming flagship with a display from Samsung rather than one from more local screen tech partner BOE.
In fairness, that supplier's well-hyped X2 panel is touted to be good enough to feature in the OnePlus 13 worldwide - however, Realme's alleged Samsung alternative might be at least as premium, going by the "10,000 yuan (~$1,414)" epithet bestowed upon it by famous leaker Digital Chat Station (DCS).
Then again, the screen is also said to be quad-curved rather than flat as in some other next-gen high-end handsets.
The typically accurate tipster also hints at a "joint production" with a second international OEM for the GT7 Pro, which might suggest that Realme has finally cracked and gotten itself a brand partner for its rear cameras, like its sister brands Vivo and OPPO.
Then again, the remark just might explain another DCS observation that Realme has invested heavily in extra hardware from Qualcomm for the GT7 Pro - a high-end ultrasonic fingerprint reader included.
The upcoming smartphone is also of course allegedly in line for the upcoming top-end Snapdragon SoC, if not a "Pro" version of the same, according to DCS. It should be capable of running Realme UI 6, a major software upgrade now enjoying previews on the brand's Weibo account.
Then again, this new leak does not bode well for the GT7 Pro's price on its supposedly impending launch.
