Realme is tipped to aim for a truly high-end experience with its next-gen Android flagship smartphone to rival others such as the Xiaomi 15 Pro and OnePlus 13. Then again, it is also now said to have the same core rear camera specs as its closest predecessor. However, the GT7 Pro might have the better periscope zoom lens of the two.

The Realme GT6 is a smartphone that reportedly flew off the shelves in its native China, as it is a relatively cost-effective source of Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 power.

However, all of its customers may not have been buying it for its rear cameras, as it had only 2 of them: a 50MP main camera based on the 1/1.56-inch Sony IMX906 and an 8MP ultrawide-angle lens.

Now, the GT7 Pro is said to have the same shooters - however, it will augment them with a 3rd lens for a periscope zoom, according to noted leaker Digital Chat Station.

That claim has been made before - however, the tipster goes into more detail this time, describing the camera as based on a 1/1.95-inch Sony IMX882 sensor - also found in the mid-range Realme 13 Pro+ (now starting at INR 29,790 (~$354) on Amazon in India), if so.

However, that would mean it is superior compared to the 2.7x periscope zoom of the GT5 Pro, with an optical zoom rating of 3x.

Realme is also thought to have splashed out on a display "exclusively" tuned by Samsung (for "excellent" color accuracy and advanced, iPhone 16 Pro Max-beating dimming modes, according to Digital Chat Station) for the GT7 Pro, which is also now said to launch in India at the end of 2024 following a much more immediate Chinese debut.
