Qualcomm Snapdragon X X1-26-101

The Snapdragon X (X1-26-101) with 8 cores is an affordable ARM-based processor for use in Windows laptops. This Qualcomm SoC, which first appeared in January 2026, features 8 Oryon CPU cores running at up to 2.98 GHz, as well as the 1.7 TFLOPS X1-45 iGPU and the 45 TOPS Hexagon NPU. The superfast LPDDR5x-8448 memory controller, USB 4.0 support, TB 4 support and PCIe 4 support are also on board. Compared to the X1-26-100, the X1-26-101 integrates a more powerful GPU (which, however, runs at a significantly lower clock speed). Compared to the weaker Snapdragon X Plus models (e.g. Snapdragon X Plus X1P-42-100), the X1-26-100 and 101 only offers lower CPU clock speeds.
Architecture and features
The Oryon cores (2 clusters with essentially identical cores; 8 threads) are largely based on Nuvia IP and reportedly use the ARM v8.7 microarchitecture. Like modern AMD and Intel processors, the Snapdragon chip is compatible with USB 4 and therefore with Thunderbolt 4 (without eGPU support). The X1-26-100 is based on the smaller chip codenamed Purwa SE, unlike most X Elite and some X Plus processors. It is believed to have at least 8 PCIe 4 and 4 PCIe 3 lanes for connecting various types of devices. NVMe SSDs are supported with a throughput of up to 7.9 GB/s. In addition, most laptops built around the chip are expected to come with 16 GB of LPDDR5x-8448 RAM. A 45 TOPS NPU is also present to accelerate AI workloads.
Performance
The CPU is likely to be around 10% slower than its faster sibling named X1P-42, as the latter has a higher CPU clock speed. Compared to Intel CPUs, the CPU ranks just below a Core Ultra 9 185H in benchmarks running natively. In older benchmarks running under emulation, the Qualcomm chip falls significantly behind.
Graphics
The X1-85 GPU runs at just 630 MHz in the X1-26-101, putting it well below the clock speeds of the faster processors. Its performance is therefore probably more comparable to that of the X1-45 in the X1-26-100. AVC, HEVC and AV1 video codecs can be both hardware-decoded and hardware-encoded, while VP9 only supports decoding. The highest supported display resolution is UHD 2160p.
Power consumption
Depending on the system and the selected power profile, you can expect between 15 W and 30 W under sustained load. This figure includes the power consumption of the RAM. The SoC is manufactured using TSMC's N4P process, which provides good energy efficiency (as of H1 2025).
