Qualcomm Snapdragon X Plus X1P-66-100

The Qualcomm Snapdragon X Plus X1P-66-100 is a mobile processor for notebooks. It integrates ten Oryon CPU cores from Nuvia for the first time. These 10 cores (of the 12 in the Elite models) clock at up to 3.4 GHz (all cores simultaneously) or up to 4 GHz (single core) and use the ARM v8.7 instruction set. The CPU performance depends heavily on the TDP used. This can be set at up to 80 watts.
The performance of the CPU cores appears to be very good with customized software. The single-core performance in Cinebench 2024 can keep up with the fastest cores from Apple (M3) and Intel, although the Plus model is slowed down somewhat by the lower clock rates. Under Windows, however, the CPU always has a disadvantage with non-adapted software, as this has to be emulated. Games are particularly affected here, as they often do not run properly.
In addition to the CPU part, the X Plus, like the Elite models, integrates a powerful NPU with up to 45 TOPS for AI acceleration.
The integrated graphics card is somewhat older and does not support full DirectX 12 Ultimate (only 12_1, but including ray tracing). With only 3.8 TFLOPS, the GPU offers significantly less maximum performance than in the top models (e.g. 4.6 TFLOPS in the X1E-84-100).
Despite the lack of efficiency cores, the Snapdragon X Elite should be very efficient according to Qualcomm. The chip is produced in the 4nm process at TSMC. In our tests, the efficiency is slightly higher than the current Intel and AMD models, but slightly behind Apple (M3).
