The hinge on the Motorola Razr Ultra 2026 (Razr 70 Ultra) (approximately US$ 1,500 on amazon.com) is a real standout feature: It opens easily with one hand and holds the phone securely in many different positions. It also allows for unusual use cases, such as taking selfies without a tripod.

Motorola relies on a proven design with subtle improvements rather than radical innovations. We’re already familiar with the clamshell layout—featuring a large inner display and a 4-inch outer screen—from previous models.

External display protected by ceramic glass

As in the previous year, Gorilla Glass Ceramic is used on the exterior for enhanced scratch resistance. This special material reliably withstands everyday wear and tear. The large external display allows for quick interactions without having to fully open the device.

Material effects for a variety of textures

The brown version with a wood-composite back offers an organic look complete with natural textural variations. The dark blue Alcantara version with a textured pattern feels softer and shows fewer fingerprints. Both versions are likely to appeal to different people.

After two weeks, our Alcantara version shows no signs of wear. It can also be easily cleaned with a soft cloth.

Water resistance: An underappreciated feature

A waterproof design isn’t a given for foldables and is complicated due to the moving parts in the hinge.

You can even submerge the Razr Ultra 2026 in shallow water without worrying about damage. So rainy days or accidental contact with water are no big deal.

No change in weight compared to the predecessor

The dimensions and weight remain unchanged from the previous model. Weighing around 199 grams, the device remains portable enough for one-handed use.
