Two new lightweight Casio G-Shock watches launching globally

Casio has unveiled two new G-Shock Baby-G BGA-290 Series watches. Set for a global release, these hybrid gadgets have round faces surrounded by a chunky bezel. The BGA-290SA-6A has a purple color scheme while the BGA-290SA-7A is white and silver.
The Casio Baby-G BGA-290 has an “easy-to-read” analog dial with Arabic numerals and two hands. Two round inset digital displays show information like the date and settings. Other functions of the model include support for 31 world time zones, a 1/100th second stopwatch, a 24-hour timer and five alarms. Plus, the watch face can be illuminated with a dual LED backlight, enabling you to tell the time in low lighting.
These Casio BGA-290 Series watches are water resistant to 10 ATM and should run for around three years on their battery. The resin casing measures 45.2 x 41.5 x 10.1 mm (~1.78 x 1.63 x 0.40 inches), and the model is relatively lightweight at 33 g (~1.16 oz).
In Japan, you can buy the Casio G-Shock Baby-G BGA-290SA-6A and BGA-290SA-7A watches for ¥15,950 (~$101) each. These watches are also listed on the brand’s international website, though it is unclear whether or when they could be released in countries across North America or Europe.
