OnePlus China has released a list of devices from this brand that will see an upgrade to Android 13 of one type or another during October 2022. These smartphones will, of course, run the latest version of ColorOS (COS 13) as opposed to the OxygenOS 13 (OOS 13) skin developed for global units.
Nevertheless, the new COS 13 update schedule might affect arrival times for OOS 13 on more devices still in circulation, as one is clearly and increasingly overtly based on the other these days. Accordingly, 9R and 9RT owners might feel more seen, as they are first in line for new COS 13 Open Beta builds, to be released on October 12, 2022.
They will be joined in this eligibility by the entire 8 series of 2020 flagships, the 8T included, on that date. The Ace Pro (or 'Chinese 10T') will also be graced with a COS 13 beta program from October 25, 2022. The 9 and 9 Pro, however, will be the only former flagships to upgrade to stable ColorOS 13 on October 31.
They will, therefore, join their Hasselblad-branded successor the 10 Pro in this regard - not to mention their counterparts from OnePlus' parent OPPO.
The entire China-only Find X3 series, its special Mars Exploration Edition included, will also update to ColorOS 13 on that date - as will the OEM's inaugural Find N foldable smartphone. Meanwhile, international versions of the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro remain on beta versions of OOS 13 as the newest official software available to them.
