OnePlus 11: Leaker downplays hardware pedigree of OnePlus's next-gen vanilla premium phone
Going by recent rumors, the OnePlus 11 Pro looks geared to be OnePlus's most premium device yet, with the flagship supposedly set to match the OPPO Find X6 Pro in terms of hardware. It appears, however, that the vanilla OnePlus 11 may be an entirely different matter.
According to leaker Yogesh Brar, the OnePlus 11 will receive little love from OnePlus, with the company instead choosing to focus all its attention on the OnePlus 11 Pro. Supposedly, the vanilla OnePlus 11 could arrive as an incremental update to the series, with features reminiscent of the current OnePlus 10 series.
That wouldn't be surprising, as OnePlus does tend to—for lack of a better term—nerf its standard models. This year, the company failed to release a OnePlus 10 at all, instead launching only the OnePlus 10 Pro earlier in the year, then following it up with the OnePlus 10T a while back. The OnePlus 10T has, so far, been received poorly, thanks in part to its lackluster hardware, durability concerns, and poor performance.
While the OnePlus 11 Pro looks promising at this stage—it could feature a proper flagship-tier main camera, even—the OnePlus 11 will likely be a lot more subdued. Fans will be hoping the company addresses the issues with the OnePlus 10T at least, with an attractive price tag in addition potentially making the OnePlus 11 a solid proposition.
