ColorOS is a custom version of Android officially developed by OPPO - however, that might not stop the OEM becoming more like iOS 17 in its upcoming major upgrade. Its latest betas are now said to have integrated Dynamic Island-style animations, even though its selfie cameras are of a different style. That may not be the only iPhone-like software tweak within the ColorOS 14 UI.
OPPO is making progress with the first version of ColorOS based on Android 14, according to Digital Chat Station, at least. The well-known leaker has strongly intimated that some new shots of smartphone screens are of the new UI's latest private beta, due to their new features.
They include a new alert style apparently emphatically based on Apple's Dynamic Island, although OPPO may have distinguished it in some ways, the most notable of which seems to be that the notification "capsules" are white rather than black as in iOS 17.
Nevertheless, OPPO's rumored take on the Island might be more unique as it can be set to emanate from corner-mounted punch-holes rather than centrally-mounted pills. Meanwhile, according to other new material posted by Digital Chat Station, ColorOS 14 intends to support its own version of Contact Posters, which can even work with the Find N2 Flip's cover display.

I became a professional writer and editor shortly after graduation. My degrees are in biomedical sciences; however, they led to some experience in the biotech area, which convinced me of its potential to revolutionize our health, environment and lives in general. This developed into an all-consuming interest in more aspects of tech over time: I can never write enough on the latest electronics, gadgets and innovations. My other interests include imaging, astronomy, and streaming all the things. Oh, and coffee.
