The Moto G72 has arrived following a short teaser campaign. Billed as Motorola's latest mid-range smartphone, the Moto G72 has a 6.55-inch and 120 Hz pOLED display, a 108 MP primary camera and a 5,000 mAh battery, among other features. Sadly, Motorola has chosen a weaker chipset to keep costs down.

Motorola has introduced another Moto Gx2 series smartphone, having already released numerous models like the Moto G82 this year. Unsurprisingly, the Moto G72 resembles its siblings, albeit with a few differences. For one, Motorola has equipped the Moto G72 with a different camera housing than other Moto Gx2 smartphones. However, the curved back panel, flat display and centred punch-hole camera should feel familiar to those who have used recent Moto G smartphones.

According to Motorola, the Moto G72 utilises the MediaTek Helio G99, a chipset also found in the POCO M5. Incidentally, the Redmi Pad is also expected to feature the budget chipset. For reference, the MediaTek Helio G99 has two ARM Cortex-A76 cores, six Cortex-A55 cores and a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU.

Additionally, the Moto G72 has a 6.55-inch display that relies on pOLED technology and operates at 2,460 x 1,080 pixels with a 120 Hz refresh rate. Motorola states that it has integrated the device's fingerprint scanner within its display, while a 16 MP (f/2.45) camera sits behind its small punch hole. Separately, Motorola has included 108 MP primary (f/1.7), 8 MP ultra-wide-angle (f/2.2) and 2 MP macro (f/2.4) rear-facing cameras.

Moreover, the Moto G72 has a 5,000 mAh battery that supports 33 W fast charging, as well as a 3.5 mm headphone jack and a microSD card reader. Motorola will begin selling the Moto G72 from October 12 in India, where it will be available with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage in Metorite Grey and Polar Blue colourways. While Motorola has not confirmed whether the Moto G72 will launch globally, the company has shared that the handset will arrive in India for INR 18,999 (~US$233).
