New GTA 6 screenshot may showcase the PS5 Pro or PC version of Rockstar game

The base PS5 console captured previous Rockstar trailers and the Netflix Extended Look. However, a new GTA 6 screenshot could preview how PS5 Pro or PC versions will enhance the visuals. One image promoting the soundtrack and radio stations showcases unusually high-quality ray-traced reflections.
What stands out?
Ben/videotech on social media was one of several followers who noticed the particularly impressive screenshot. It highlights Vice City nightlife, with a sports car spotted cruising down a street. With a large puddle nearby, the scene is ideal to display effects that may be possible only on the PS5 Pro.
For more insight, videotech asked Oliver Mackenzie of Digital Foundry for feedback. After analyzing previous trailers, Mackenzie suspects the screenshot doesn’t represent GTA 6 PS5 gameplay. He bases the finding on the “clarity of the hardware RT reflections and the overall clarity of the image.”
On the other hand, the video producer cautions that parts of the ray-traced reflections are lower resolution. That could suggest Rockstar compromised graphical quality enough to accommodate the base PlayStation console. Another scenario is the studio used a dev build-enabled photo mode to maximize visual fidelity.
The new GTA 6 screenshot posted on the soundtrack and radio page may also not be the first taken on a PS5 Pro or PC. When Rockstar shared 63 images in June, Digital Foundry questioned whether they were indicative of real-time gameplay. Unlike the trailers, no disclaimer identifies a specific platform.
Frustrated PS5 Pro owners
While a PC port still seems far off, the release date for the GTA 6 PS5 Pro Enhanced version is fast approaching. Yet neither the studio nor Sony has revealed what advantages the hardware will offer. As is often the case with its flagship system, the PlayStation blog could divulge these details close to launch.
Lacking more information, it’s also difficult to predict performance differences across platforms. Rockstar North co-head Rob Nelson did hint that 30 fps is the target on all consoles.
