Reviews for the Lenovo Yoga Tab 13
It has been quiet for a long time in Lenovo's Yoga Tab series with its iconic battery cylinder and built-in kick-stand, but now it is back. Will the Yoga Tab 13 be able to reignite the old flame of attraction to Lenovo's multimedia tablets with Android?

The question of what makes a ‘good’ tablet has long since been answered - it needs a good display, good speakers, enough power not to be a distraction and decent battery life. On most of these counts, the Lenovo Yoga Tab 13 delivers and then some, with a unique form factor and the ability to function as an external display being particular highlights. But for slightly squiffy build quality, the lack of a more premium screen and a high asking price this would have been an easy recommendation over some of the competition.

The Lenovo Yoga Tab 13 stands out thanks to its built-in kickstand, which is ideal for positioning the screen. However, this adds bulk to the design, so while it's great for using to watch content, it's not always as practical for other everyday tablet tasks. Overall, it's a good Android slate that stands apart thanks to its forward-thinking and ultimately unique design.

The Lenovo Yoga Tab 13 is interesting and even exotic, but having got far ahead in one aspect, the tablet is dragging behind in many others. As a device for comfortable consumption of video content, it is very good. Great sound, nice screen, very multifunctional stand. But in many other situations, an asymmetrical and non-standard tablet feels out of place: it is impossible to digitize documents due to the lack of a camera, it is impossible to draw comfortably and it is impossible to work because there are no keyboard cases. The Lenovo Yoga Tab 13 is a portable device for home. Very hardy, very pleasant in certain scenarios, and convenient to use. But it is not versatile. Those who want to get a truly universal tablet can pay attention to competitors. Those who want to relax watching their favorite TV series on a hefty screen will be satisfied.

The Lenovo Yoga Tab 13 is an excellent entertainment-focused tablet. Its crisp 2K screen and sharp audio quality deliver fantastic movie-watching and mobile gaming experiences. The long-lasting battery means you’ll enjoy your favorite content for hours on end. It also makes for a great secondary display. Though great at what it does, it’s not the most portable device out there. It’s also all but impossible to find a protective cover due to its unusual design. The lack of 5G support is also a letdown, as is the lack of a headphone jack. If you’re looking for an entertainment-focused device that you don't plan to cart around much, the Yoga Tab 13 is a good choice. However, if you’re looking for a cheaper, more portable slate with similar features, the iPad Air 4 and Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 are good alternatives.

The Lenovo Yoga Tab 13 has two faces, working both as a second screen for a computer or laptop, and as a powerful tool for gaming or streaming media. It works well for both with its built-in stand, large battery, great screen and speaker quality, and giant size all impressing us. A few small issues arising from its design don’t affect the experience much, though some might find the lack of a rear camera annoying.

The Lenovo Yoga Tab 13 is a solid tablet for its intended market. Offering a bright, sharp and large screen, excellent audio quality plus a reliable, well built kickstand it’s one of the best tablets on the market for Netflix and Disney Plus binges. But its atypical design is missing a few key features for people that also want a tablet for productivity purposes.

The Yoga Tab 13 will inevitably be compared to alternatives from Apple. The iPad Air starts at £579 and has a smaller 10.9-inch screen, while the more expensive iPad Pro starts at £749 for the 11-inch model and £999 for the 12.9-inch model. This is before keyboard covers are added on. There are other options in the Android market, including Galaxy Tab devices from Samsung that cater for mobile broadband (including 5G), keyboard covers and styli. But none have that useful integrated kickstand, and there's no doubt that Lenovo really knows how to handle audio.

With the Yoga Tab 13, Lenovo has charged into the premium Android tablet space with a solid contender. It goes head-to-head with the best from Samsung and Apple and in some instances bests the competition. There are also unavoidable question marks over software support and some questionable hardware omissions — most notably, the single storage option, the lack of a rear camera, and the absence of any biometric security options. The 60Hz-only screen also feels a little behind the curve compared to the main Galaxy Tab S7 series. Nevertheless, the Lenovo Yoga Tab 13 is an excellent super-sized tablet with a novel design that’s easy to recommend to anyone looking for a top-quality entertainment slate.

If you want versatility and performance in an Android tablet, consider the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 ($649.99). It has almost all the features of the Yoga Tab 13, is more compact, and has built-in support for Samsung’s Bookcover Keyboard. If your priorities are Android and a large screen, the Editors' Choice–winning Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+ ($849) is the best Android productivity tablet you can buy, and worth the extra cash for the S Pen, 5G connectivity, and a stunning display. If you want to stay under $700 and you're not choosy about your OS, the iPad Air is our top pick. But if you're short on space and want a small TV or a second laptop display that you can occasionally pack up and take with you, the Yoga Tab 13 will suit you well.

Using the Lenovo Yoga Tab 13 made me like Android tablets again — aside from many apps in the Google Play store being less than stellar. Lenovo made some really nice choices in the tablet's design, and the hardware feels great and is comfortable to hold. The inclusion of the kickstand really comes in handy when utilizing the fantastic display and high-quality speakers to take advantage of Google Entertainment Space. As a secondary monitor using the micro-HDMI port, the Yoga Tab 13 is great for small workspaces or on-the-go work sessions — utilizing that kickstand. I just wish that Google could get Ambient Mode to work better. Letting this device pull double-duty as both a tablet and smart display would be wonderful, but the software isn't consistent enough, and that's more of a Google problem. As long as Ambient Mode and the lack of the Precision Pen 2 being in the box aren't deal-breakers for you — the Lenovo Yoga Tab 13 is a great tablet.

When it comes to Android tablets, there isn’t necessarily a huge stack of selections to choose from. At least not in the premium end and certainly not from well-known brands. That’s in part down to the fact that Google has arguably neglected tablets with regard to Android support in general. But this particular tablet does solve at least some of the issues on that front. What Lenovo most obviously presents with its Yoga Tab 13 is an Android tablet that’s worthy of the Yoga branding. Even compared to many laptops. Stacking in the latest in networking, Micro-HDMI input for second screen use, support for an active stylus, a built-in kickstand, and great front-facing camera experience only furthers this tablets placement in the premium bracket. For under $700, Lenovo Yoga Tab 13 is undeniably the best premium tablet the company has released. And arguably the most high-value premium tablet running Android in 2021.

Qualcomm Adreno 650: Graphics chip for smartphones and tablets that is integrated within the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC. Qualcomm claims that it is 25% faster than the Adreno 640 in the Snapdragon 855 SoC and offers 50% more compute units (ALUs). For Android it should be one of the fastest graphics cards in 2020.
Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.

This range of display format is largely the upper limit for tablets and the lower limit for subnotebooks.
The advantage of subnotebooks is that the entire laptop can be small in size and therefore easily portable. The tiny display has the added advantage of requiring little power, which further improves battery life and thus mobility. The disadvantage is that reading texts is exhausting for the eyes. High resolutions, which one is used to from a standard laptop, are almost not usable.
The same applies to tablets in this size range.

As of 2004, the company was the largest laptop manufacturer in China and, after acquiring IBM's PC division in 2005, the fourth largest in the world. In addition to desktops and notebooks, the company manufactures monitors, projectors, servers, etc, and specializes in developing, manufacturing and marketing consumer electronics, personal computers, software, enterprise solutions and related services.
In 2016, the company ranked first in the world in computer sales. It still held it in 2023 with about 23% global market share. Important product lines are Thinkpad, Legion and Ideapad.
In 2011, it acquired a majority stake in Medion AG, a European computer hardware manufacturer. In 2014, Motorola Mobility was purchased, which gave Lenovo a boost in the smartphone market.
