If Lenovo keeps on upgrading this tablet, the iPad Air becomes irrelevant

The Lenovo Yoga Tab Gen 2 is a high-quality tablet with many possibilities.
The Lenovo Yoga Tab Gen 2 is a high-quality tablet with many possibilities.
The Lenovo Yoga Tab Gen 2 has been significantly improved and, with accessories such as a stylus and keyboard cover, is not only a great tablet but can even serve as a laptop replacement. It is also well ahead of other tablets in terms of battery life, as our review showed.

Lenovo offers a premium, compact tablet that takes on the biggest names in the tablet market:

The Yoga Tab Gen 2 costs US$ 599, for example directly from the manufacturer, and at this price it competes with the Apple iPad Air 11 or the Samsung Galaxy Tab S12. Its battery life, for example, shows that it can hold its own against the big names: in our real-world Wi-Fi test, it simply lasts twice as long as Apple's tablet.

Great IPS screen in the Yoga tablet

The Yoga Tab Gen 2's display also has a higher resolution than the competition. Whether you really notice this on the fairly compact 11.1-inch screen is another question. And sensitive users do not have to contend with PWM flickering, which is also likely to be a positive aspect for many users.

Lenovo also seems to have finally understood that long-term update support is important and promises to provide security updates until 2033. However, you should always bear in mind Lenovo's earlier statement, which interprets the current EU directive on software updates as requiring updates to be available, but by no means fully up to date.

Lenovo tablet without a cellular option

Lenovo could still improve its range of models: a tablet with such a portable form factor in particular could benefit from a cellular version with GPS positioning. Customers could use it as a navigation system in older cars or simply for internet access in areas without Wi-Fi.

The speakers are another area where Lenovo could make improvements: we would have expected more here from a manufacturer that offers the excellent-sounding Lenovo Tab Plus Gen 2.

Does Lenovo need to improve the weight?

The Yoga Tab Gen 2 is also slightly heavier than some competitors, but its excellent battery life should more than make up for the barely 30 grams of extra weight in everyday use.
