Moving from 4K to 3K is actually a plus while Panther Lake feels like a downgrade compared to Lunar Lake in some ways.

Lenovo recently made available its premium Yoga 9 2-in-1 14 G11 to succeed last year's Yoga 9 2-in-1 G10. Even though not much has changed from the outside, internal specifications now include newer Panther Lake CPU options instead of Lunar Lake while the touchscreen has dropped from 4K to 3K.

The latter change is interesting as while it sounds like a downgrade at first, the new 3K panel supports double the refresh rate of the older 4K panel at 120 Hz instead of 60 Hz. We noted in our review of the 2025 Yoga 9 2-in-1 G10 that "resolution isn't everything" especially on smaller screen sizes. The faster refresh rate on the G11 allows the system to feel smoother and more responsive particularly when using the included stylus to make the lower resolution tradeoff arguably worthwhile.

The CPU swap to Panther Lake, however, isn't as impressive as we had hoped. Whereas competing convertibles like the HP OmniBook X Flip 14 or MSI Prestige 14 Flip come with Panther Lake Core Ultra H and Core Ultra X options, respectively, the Lenovo is unfortunately limited to U-series options like the Core Ultra 7 355. This particular processor is at times even slower than the Core Ultra 7 258V on last year's Yoga 9 2-in-1 14 G10 which puts the 2026 G11 model in a weird spot against its immediate predecessor.

We like what the Yoga 9 2-in-1 14 G11 offers in terms of the touchscreen experience, but performance hunters or frequent picture editors may want to look beyond the Lenovo model as year-over-year performance levels haven't quite improved.
