Great accessories: This premium tablet is almost a full-fledged laptop replacement

Sometimes you get lucky as a tablet reviewer: Lenovo loaned us a Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus Gen 2 for review and included the Tab Pen Pro 2 stylus and keyboard cover. This gave us the chance to take a closer look at both as well.

The Yoga Tab Plus Gen 2 is a large 13-inch tablet currently available for US$ 799 at lenovo.com. For that, you get a native 4K display, plenty of power and good battery life.

The software is designed to let you use the device as a normal Android tablet, while also offering a PC mode designed for use with a keyboard and mouse or trackpad. You can even connect a second monitor via the USB port with integrated DisplayPort.

High-quality keyboard cover and stylus

Lenovo also offers a dedicated keyboard cover with an integrated trackpad and even keyboard backlighting. With 1.5 millimeters of key travel, typing on the cover feels good, although it naturally cannot quite match a proper laptop keyboard. The trackpad works well and reliably recognizes multi-finger gestures.

A real highlight is the new Tab Pen Pro 2 with 8,192 pressure levels, tilt detection, haptic and acoustic feedback, a touch-sensitive surface and wireless charging directly on the tablet. This finally puts the stylus on a par with the best styluses from Apple or Samsung. However, Apple still has the best selection of apps for creative users.

Handwriting recognition and touchscreen operation

Combining the keyboard and stylus lets you quickly select individual words in documents directly on the touchscreen while typing. Alternatively, you can have your handwriting converted directly into text, which also works quite reliably most of the time.

We gave the Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus Gen 2 a "Very good" rating. However, that does not mean we did not notice a few points of criticism. You can find these and much more information about the Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus Gen 2 in our in-depth review.
