Thanks to its stylus, the Lenovo Yoga Tab is an interesting choice for school or university. But how performs the Lenovo stylus in everyday use and how good is the Tab Pen Pro compared to Samsung's S Pens? We take a closer look at the functions and built quality.

The new Yoga Tab is a very good alternative to premium tablets such as a Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 or Apple iPad Air 11 despite its affordable price tag (RRP around $550 including pen and keyboard case, available directly from the manufacturer). Thanks to a fast Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and high endurance as well as a great LTPS screen, the Lenovo tablet proves to be an interesting choice in the mid-range especially for students.

The Yoga Tab comes with the Lenovo Tab Pen Pro and offers a variety of useful software features for the in-house pen.

In addition to AI functions such as Circle to Search, the ZUI17 interface also offers many options for using the Lenovo Tab Pen Pro for productivity. With the touch-sensitive area in the front of the pen case, gestures can be used to select the tool bar, for example. This works very reliably in everyday use.

In addition to a handwriting recognition and screen gestures, the stylus can also be used as a remote control thanks to the Bluetooth connection. This can be useful for presentations, for example. Another practical feature for mobile use is an anti-loss alert that notifies the user if the connection to the Tab Pen Pro is lost.

Lenovo Tab Pen Pro comes with good built quality

In direct comparison to the new Samsung S Pen, the Tab Pen Pro appears thicker and with a weight of around 18 grams, the Lenovo pen is significantly heavier. This makes the in hand feel noticeably different. Which of the concepts is better, however, remains a matter of taste. Both styluses feel high-quality and are well-made.

However, we see minor disadvantages with the Tab Pen Pro in daily use. The pen tip is harder than that of the Samsung competitor, which means that the glass surface offers slightly less resistance when writing and drawing. The Samsung pen is also quieter, which makes using the Tab Pen Pro a little less pleasant in everyday use.
