Atlus has released a Gallica Character Trailer for Metaphor: ReFantazio, putting the protagonist's fairy partner in the spotlight ahead of the game's Nintendo Switch 2 launch on November 12, 2026. The roughly one-minute video went live on September 23 as part of a new run of character trailers, and it centers on her loyalty with the line "If you mess with him, you're gonna have to go through me!"

Who is Gallica?

Gallica is the fairy who has traveled with the protagonist since the start of his journey across the United Kingdom of Euchronia. Atlus describes her as his partner and guide as the two try to lift the deadly curse placed on his childhood friend, the prince. The story begins with the pair arriving in the capital for the king's funeral after his assassination, a setup that drops both of them into the political chaos that drives the plot.

What her follower bond offers

In Metaphor: ReFantazio, Gallica is one of the game's follower bonds, which rank up automatically as the story advances. Her bond unlocks the Mage Archetype lineage. Wizard becomes available at Rank 3, while Elemental Master and Warlock open at Rank 8. Her perks include Monsterology Scholar, which adds detail to enemy analysis in squad battles, and Victory Foresight, which can grant extra Turn Icons during fights. These systems are part of the original 2024 release.

Switch 2 release and availability

The Switch 2 version arrives on November 12, 2026, after its June 10 Nintendo Direct announcement. Sega says it launches at a lower price than the original release. Metaphor: ReFantazio first launched on October 11, 2024, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Pre-orders are open, and a Steelbook Edition will be available for a limited time at launch. Sega notes that the physical version uses a game-key card only, so players will need to download the game.

The Metaphor: ReFantazio holds a Metacritic score of 94, won Best RPG at The Game Awards 2024, andsold one million copies on its first day, making it the fastest-selling game in Atlus history. Studio Zero developed the game, and Atlus publishes it in Japan, with Sega handling international releases.
