Konami, Evil Empire, and Motion Twin will release Castlevania: Belmont's Curse on October 15, 2026, for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The 2D action-exploration game arrives in the franchise's 40th anniversary year. The Standard Edition costs $29.99 and the Midnight Edition costs $39.99.

Rose Belmont takes on Paris in 1499

The story takes place in Paris in 1499, 23 years after Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse. Players control Rose Belmont, the daughter of Trevor Belmont, as she fights through burning streets and the catacombs beneath the city. Her first major opponent is The Fallen, a mysterious monster terrorizing Paris. Rose carries the legendary Vampire Killer whip into battle.

Tarot cards replace sub-weapons

Rose also carries a tarot deck from her mother, Sypha Belnades. Defeated bosses are sealed into the cards and become Arcana, which Rose uses to cast spells and perform special actions. Each Arcana has optional challenges called Works of Mercy, and completing them unlocks upgrades known as Blessings. Previews have compared the overall structure to Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, though Konami describes the game as an exploration-based 2D action title.

Voice cast and music

Abby Trott voices Rose, and JB Blanc plays Trevor. Alejandra Reynoso (Sypha Belnades) and Graham McTavish (Dracula) return from the Netflix animated series, while Liam O'Brien reprises Isaac from Castlevania: Curse of Darkness. The game's trailer also showcased a new arrangement of the series staple Bloody Tears.

Demo and Switch performance

A free demo went live on October 1 on all four platforms, and progress carries over to the full game. Players have found a hidden weapon in it, the Cestus gauntlets, which deal more damage the more they connect. Konami lists the Switch version at 30 fps, compared with 60 fps on other platforms. Early reports say the demo runs closer to 60 fps on Switch 2 through backward compatibility, but Konami has not confirmed this, and no native Switch 2 version has been announced.

Pre-order bonuses

Pre-orders are open. The Midnight Edition adds a digital sound and art gallery, Trevor and Sypha costumes, and the Family's Grace relic. Pre-ordering either edition includes an Alucard costume.
