Tormented Souls 2 launches on Nintendo Switch 2

Publisher PQube and developer Dual Effect will release survival horror sequel Tormented Souls 2 (styled as Tormented Souls II) on Nintendo Switch 2 on Thursday, October 15, 2026. The game first launched on October 23, 2025, on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, and has since also reached GOG.
The Switch 2 version is available digitally and as a physical Game-Key Card edition, with physical pre-orders open across Europe and North America since the July 28 announcement.
Caroline Walker returns to save her sister
The story picks up after the events at Wildberger Hospital in the first game. Caroline Walker takes her sister Anna, who is haunted by violent visions that she turns into disturbing drawings, to Villa Hess, a remote town in southern Chile, hoping a mysterious clinic can cure her. The retreat turns out to be a trap, as Mother Lucia and her sinister cult kidnap Anna. Caroline then explores decaying locations, including a convent, the Galería Luna shopping mall, an abandoned school, and cemetery mausoleums.
Classic survival horror with modern conveniences
Dual Effect keeps the fixed-camera presentation of 90s survival horror, complete with limited saves and tank controls, while an assisted mode offers a more casual experience. Caroline can use her supernatural powers to switch between realities, change the past to reshape the present, and find alternate paths in the nightmarish Other Side.
Combat relies on makeshift weapons such as the nailer and a chainsaw, and a quick-select feature lets players swap weapons mid-fight. Other platforms received a free New Game Plus update in February 2026, which adds the Electric Lance and Flamethrower weapons, but PQube’s announcement does not say whether the Switch 2 version includes it.
Price and availability
GameStop lists the physical Switch 2 edition at $39.99 for pre-order in the US. Because it ships as a game key card, players should expect to download the game to the console. The original Tormented Souls reached the first Nintendo Switch in 2022, but this sequel skipped it, so the Switch 2 release marks its first appearance on a Nintendo console.
The sequel has performed well, passing 100,000 copies sold within its first six weeks and earning nine award nominations by the end of 2025, according to PQube.
