Bandai Namco says the remaster includes a Boost feature that adjusts experience gained and encounter frequency, toggleable destination icons and a high-speed mode for auto battles. Battle Retry lets players restart a lost fight from the Game Over menu, and Quick Recovery is also included. Extreme difficulty is available from the start of the game, while the new Unknown difficulty unlocks after players finish it.
