Jabra's Elite 7 Actives were touted as the "best earbuds for running" on their debut, thanks to first-party ShakeGrip technology rated to keep them in place regardless of how intense a user's activity gets. Now, their 8 Active successors are now slated to build on this reputation with improved IP68 ingress protection - in fact, according to new allegedly leaked snaps of their packaging, even their case will be IP54.
The "Jabra Elite 8 Actives" are also now believed to support Dolby Audio, and "Adaptive Hybrid" active noise cancellation (ANC) on their launch. However, they may be outdone by their impending flagship siblings, the Elite 10s, in this respect.
They are reportedly destined for "Jabra Advanced ANC", not to mention Dolby Atmos. Then again, they will share official Google Fast Pair, MFi and Spotify Tap badges with their new Active counterparts. They may also have Jabra Comfort ear-tips.
Despite these freshly rumored upgrades, it seems both the Jabra Elite 10s and 8 Actives might be slightly lacking in terms of launch-day color options. The former are apparently pictured in black or gold-ish beige, whereas the latter are shown in black or navy blue, even though the Elite 7 Actives have more choices on Amazon.
