The nascent 360° drone market is heating up, with Insta360 having now confirmed the launch date of the long-awaited Antigravity A1. To recap, we last heard from the Antigravity A1 in August when Insta360 shared numerous details about its first drone. At the time, the company claimed that the Antigravity A1 would not be available until January 2026.
Since then, it has become evident that DJI is working on an alternative. Based on recent rumours, DJI hopes to present the Avata 360 before the end of the year, in part to avoid an impending new sales ban in the US. For reference, the Avata 360 is expected to leverage the same camera hardware as the recent Osmo 360 (curr. $357 on Amazon). Perhaps coincidentally, Insta360 has now confirmed that the Antigravity A1 will debut next week.
As the teaser below shows, the Antigravity A1 will officially arrive on December 4 at 14:00 UTC. Whether that is also the date when the drone will be available to purchase remains to be seen, though. Nonetheless, it seems that the Antigravity A1 will beat the DJI Avata 360 to being released in any capacity. Currently, Insta360 is rumoured to have priced the Antigravity A1 at around $999.
